Festive Modern Calligraphy - Cards & Gift Tags - Friday 15th November - 7pm - 9pm

Calligraphy is defined as the art of drawing beautiful letters. Brush pens are ideal for beginners as they are easily accessible and you can practice anywhere. They are suitable for both left & right-handed calligraphers.

This festive session will be perfect for beginners looking to try brush pen calligraphy and develop your skills while enjoying some time to relax and experience the mindful effects of practising beautiful hand-lettering.  

You’ll spend time getting to grips with using the pen and learning the technique of release and pressure to create consistent thick and thin lines. Using worksheets, Kat will guide you to create calligraphy strokes and letter shapes, moving on to forming the lowercase, then uppercase alphabet and joining the letters to form words.

Now you will be ready to create a set of beautiful Festive Greetings Card and Gift Tags using a selection of metallic and coloured brush and fine tip pens. Choose from a selection of templates, transfer the lettering onto your card and carefully draw the letters of your chosen designs. Kat will show you how to add embellishments to your designs, such as wreaths, stars and other seasonal flourishes.

Kat will provide you with all the tools you need, demonstrations and one-on-one support to troubleshoot any individual difficulties you come across.

As well as your hand-lettered cards and gift tags, you will leave with a brush pen, worksheets, templates, and a list of resources; everything you need to continue to have an enjoyable time practising and developing your unique style of brush pen calligraphy!

What do I need to bring?

You do not need to bring anything with you as all materials are included in the workshop.

Terms & Conditions - The fee for the workshop is payable when booking. If you need to cancel your booking, we are unable to offer a refund. You may however be able to nominate someone else to attend the workshop in your place. We reserve the right to cancel a workshop up to 48 hours prior to the workshop date. We will only cancel due to sickness or insufficient places sold.  If we have to cancel you will be refunded the full amount paid or given the option to transfer your booking to another workshop.
